| Rebecca Moore - Biography.
Rebecca has supported some of Australia 's best roots and blues artists such as Xavier Rudd, the John Butler Trio, Jez, Melanie Horsnell, Archie Roach and the Back Sliders (Rob Hirst of Midnight Oil). She has played shows with The Church , Women in Docs and Things of Stone and Wood . Some of Rebecca's appearances include the playing at the opening of the 2006 Ski season Thredbo Alpine Hotel , the Cygnet Folk Festival Tasmania, Aquarius Music Festival and Earthstomp Yallingup WA, The Kashmir Klub London, 12 Bar London, Ruby Sessions Dublin Ireland, The Corner Hotel Melbourne, The Annandale Hotel and The Basement Sydney, Artsrage Perth and Mojo's, Western Australia.
Rebecca was a Finalist in the Newcastle Music Awards Blues and Roots Award, 2004 . The song "Desert" featured on Rebecca's debut album "The Uluru Concept", which featured Gavin Shoesmith and Jason McGann of the original John Butler Trio . Three of Rebecca's songs also gained semi-finalist placings in the 2005 Newcastle Music Awards.
In 2001 Rebecca won the first APRA Professional Development Award in the Rock category . This award provided Rebecca with $10,000 which financed a UK tour and her EP “Butterfly Catcher". This EP was engineered by Jen Anderson in Melbourne and featured Grant Cummerford (Jeff Lang/Matt Walker/Xavier Rudd) on Bass.
Rebecca is a gifted songwriter with ability to transport audiences on a visual as well as musical journey. The music weaves dynamic melody with intricate lyricism and heart breaking passion. The songs are metaphorically intriguing and vocally breathtaking. She has been compared to Tracey Chapman, Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell and Sarah McLachlan ; however she maintains a distinct individuality and an awesome creative presence.
In 2006 Rebecca is Music Director of the Acoustic Music Series at the Star of the Sea Theatre in Manly. She recently co-ordinated a show with Jeff Lang, Matt Walker and Ashley Davies (September 2006) . The 2006 opening season show featured Trapazoid, Rebecca Moore and Melanie Horsnell .
Rebecca's songs have featured on many radio shows including Triple J's Morning Show, Creatures of the Spotlight, and Roots n' all as well as countless independent and community radio programmes, both in Australia and overseas.
She is performing with a new band based on the Northern Beaches in Sydney . Her shows include two residencies, one at the Manly West Organic Market and the other at the Artichoke Gallery Cafés in Cremorne and Manly. Upcoming shows include a residency at The Inch in Mona Vale, the Newcastle Blues Festival, and New Years Eve at the Thredbo Alpine Resort 2006/2007.
