artists such as Howlin Wolf, Ray Charles, Anne Peebles, Muddy Waters,
Johnny Adams, Duke Ellington, Free and Bruce Springsteen. At times it’s
mercilessly tough and low down and at others it’s sweet and almost (but

Joined Sydney rock outfit Finch in 1972. Finch win Pepsi Battle
Of The Bands in 1974.
1977 joined Skyhooks.
Several albums later, in 1980, Skyhooks folded. Bob's begins involvement
with audio engineering & production.
need guitarist in 1985, & Bob steps into an over seven-year association,
producing three studio albums, including the band's only Number 1 album
(Beyond Salvation) a string of singles, a double live album, many tours
& much time spent living in America. Bob became one of the band's two
All Bob's albums with Skyhooks & The Angels have been certified either
Platinum or Gold. In 1998 Bob received an ARIA Lifetime Achievement
Award & was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
is the Melbourne Coach for "The Weekend Warriors" (a program designed to
help baby-boomers get back into playing music for fun), a guitar tutor &
band coach, giving Master classes & Clinics, running a mastering &
recording studio, writing a guitar book & recording & producing other
Bob is also currently recording his first ever, solo album.
A brief history of….
At 15 (1974) he was supporting some of Australia’s
finest touring bands (AC/DC, Ayres Rock, Little River band, Buffalo,
Cold Chisel, Hush and TMG).
By 17 he was playing 7 nights a week up and
down Australia's East coast.
Since then he has played thousands of gigs
all over Australia.
Opened for blues greats
Albert Collins and
with his (and Bob Spencer’s) band Black Cat
Moan. 1993 Teams up with guitarist/producer
John Brewster (the Angels) to write and record a solo album.
1996 began touring nationally with young guitar
for 6 years (including opening for the great
B.B. King.) 2001-
Performances with Bridie King and the Boogie Kings, Jenny Marie Lang,
Alison Penney and Ron and Jeff King (Foreday Riders).
2003 Formed 7 piece funk and soul band
