Jury & Spencer

Wayne JURY and Bob Spencers musical paths crossed mostly due to an admiration of English band ’Free’ (circa 1969). A love of the earthy blues/roots genre saw them form 3 different bands in the 1980’s. The most successful of these was ‘Black Cat Moan’.

JURY + SPENCER sees a coming together of their combined musical experiences of the last 25 years, a manifestation of rock, blues and soul! It IS a soundtrack of their combined musical lives.

Together JURY + SPENCER share a wealth of musical and entertainment experience, tailor made for a concert or festival audience. Their delivery is effortless, their intention is clear… soulful, rootsy and earthy tunes in a show that inspires and entertains. If they looked as good as they sounded it would be a perfect package!

It is NOT a ‘top 40’ soundtrack to a baby-boomers life. Neither Bob nor Wayne has ever trod the straight and easy musical path, their inventiveness and creativity would never allow it.

You WILL recognise the songs but the approach is uniquely and entertainingly their own.

Wayne’s soulful vocals and acoustic guitar blend effortlessly with Bob’s dynamic electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin and bass guitar. Around a handful of original tunes you’ll find their own versions of songs by artists such as Howlin Wolf, Ray Charles, Anne Peebles, Muddy Waters, Johnny Adams, Duke Ellington, Free and Bruce Springsteen. At times it’s mercilessly tough and low down and at others it’s sweet and almost (but not quite) sensitive. It IS uniquely JURY + SPENCER.
