Sideshow Addiction

Sideshow Addiction was conceived in 2005, combining the talents of four of Newcastle’s most creative musicians. The combination of raw talent and passion is evident in the bands original compositions, which ooze the influences of decades of rhythms and styles.

Not wanting to be labeled as just another cover band SIDESHOW ADDICTION has been
working hard for the last 2 years to get it right. Blending into the sets, covers and originals, the audience is blissfully unaware of the inclusion of our original material, contented to think that the last song was from U2 or Kisschasy or Metallica, such is the diversity of the band.

The Band covers many artists from the 70’s through to the present, with artists and  bands like The Kinks, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, 3 Doors Down, Stone Temple Pilots and INXS, its easy to see where they get there influences and inspiration.

Jason Taylor; lead vocal and rhythm guitarist: the influence for some of the original compositions. His roots in the local music scene run deep, with family members active within the industry. It was inevitable that Jason would follow with his own style of music while working hard to carve out a niche for himself as a singer/songwriter. With 13 yrs playing and writing experience behind him, Jason has more in store to cater for all.

Anthony Newton; Lead Guitar and vocals: the man who makes you wanna cry or sing. His hard hitting solos stand out from the crowd and scream to be
noticed like a recalcitrant schoolboy. With influences such as Van Halen, AC/DC and The Angels this dynamo axe man is on top of the A list of lead
guitarists. With over 20 yrs experience of song writing behind him, Anthony plays with feel and vigor to give the best performance night after night.

Wayne Trowbridge; Bass and vocals: has been pumping it out on Bass for over 20yrs and has been one of the driving forces behind the band. With a wealth of experience in some of Newcastle’s top bands, he sits in the engine room and awaits further orders while his frontline guitars head into battle.
Influences include Kiss, Deep Purple, and The Doobie Bro. 

Greg Newton; Drums/Percussion: is the Keeper of the Time. He sits, with his faithful Bassist, in the engine room, and keeps the band churning forward. His tribal rhythms and hypnotic beat, summons prey unto him and leaves them chanting for his forgiveness. Greg draws influences from all over the universe and is always on the prowl for a good time.
