The Delta Amps

The Delta Amps are majorly a collaborative blues act which features the core duo of Billy James(Vocs/harp) and John Turbill(Guits/Slide/vocs.) who have worked for many years around the mid north coast region [based at Coff harbour].

This exciting fun duo present not only original tunes but versions of John Lee Hooker, Harry Manx, JJ Cale, Dylan and much more.

"Good ol' raw BBQ Blues".. Billy calls it. So get ready for  lot's of 'foot stompin', fun with walls of great wailing harmonica, don't miss the cruisin' vibes of The Delta Amps.

Billy James is a respected winner in the Hohner Golden Harmonica Championships in The Tamworth Country Music festival  for both 2006 & 2007. Billy is also an active session harmonica player/tutor.
 
 He has worked not only extensively with his own bands and duo's but as a member of The Airborne Blues Virus , The Stiffies, Blind Lemon [Bris.] and many others including doing a variety of shows with James T. [ex Canned Heat] and support spots for artists such as Radio Birdman, Lynwood Slim, The Last Volunteers, even Moving Pictures .  

A great authentic Harmonia Boogie style bluesman he plays harp music  not unlike Sonny Boy Williamson, Al Wilson and Sonny Terry.
