Zoe K and the There has been a shortage of young female front blues singers in the Newcastle and central coast scene but now one young lady and her male counterparts formed the band Zoe K and the Money Shot Band and they are sure making up some lost time with their high energy yet very soul satisfying shows. At only twenty three Zoe K has the unique stage persona that has been missing from young performers, she doesn’t just sing she entertains. Most patrons will be misleading to believe that in their modest Australian pub they could be mistaken to feel as though they are dancing in a seductive old bar in New Orleans. With comparisons to Nina Simone, Etta James and a sober Amy Winehouse, Zoe K has taken all of her influences and made them her own. Zoe is also a Top 5 finalist in this year’s Newcastle 1223 ABC music awards in the Blues category and is also nominated for Best Female Vocalist. |

These two hired guns have shared the stage with some of Newcastle’s most respected blues musicians. There is also Sydney based Adam Masters on drums – percussions who has played in many venues in Sydney and central coast, there are not many that have the tasty groove Adam provides. Waz originally from Sydney has played guitar for the last 25 years in Sydney, Central Coast and now for the last 8 years he has bought his dynamic guitar playing ability to Novocastrians. Baby Legs hailed originally from the blue mountains has been playing in pubs since he was 14 and moved to the big smoke that is Newcastle 5years ago where he met Waz who took him under his wing and introduced him into the Newcastle -central coast music scene.
