Davistown Blues Festival volunteer Availability? Volunteers for this position will be required to be available for at least 8 hours for the Davistown blues festival Activity requirements? (OHS & training) All volunteers will be breifed by volunteer manager on your tasks- general festival duties and are to complete a breif induction inclusive of OH&S Requirements A breif intrest and knowledge of music and events Good communication skills Good time management skills Ability to work as a member of a close loyal team Ability to deal with a range of personalities and behaviours Ability to work under pressure Must be 18 years of age to work in venues with age requirements (i.e. licensed Venues) A drivers license would be prefered Be of good health- and not under and medication which might place ones self or others in danger. Must have an operating mobile phone. Physical Activity Volunteering for the Davistown Blues Festival will require bending, and lifting, standing for lengthy periods and other activities that can be at times physically demanding. Where the physical demands of any activity are beyond your capabilities, you are requested to discuss the matter with the volunteer manager. Training Compulsory volunteer training sessions will be conducted for all volunteers working for the 2007 Davistown Blues Festival. Sucessful completion of this will guaruntee volunteer work placement with the festival. Where training has not been completed, your services cannot be utilised. Training will be instructed a day before the festival commencement Key Tasks Many tasks are available to volunteers of the 2007 Davistown Blues Festival. Volunteers will be selected to fill various roles throughout the 3 days of the festival. depending on the role of the volunteer is considered for, the key tasks and performance measures will be as follows: Volunteers need to have accurate knowledge of the festival programme, venues, merchandise items and relevant prices, ticket structure and the festival band line up Provide existing and prospective ticket holders with up to date information on the 2007 Davistown Blues Festival Activities Tasks with each role will vary, but may include the following: 1. Supplying of accurate information on: Ticket structure and costs Festival band line ups Venue & artist ushering Festival venue managemnt local knowledge fund raising/ raffle control research marketing of sponsors goffer/runner 2. Attend face to face enquiries about the Davistown Blues festival 3. provide information to visitors and the local community 4. Attend compulsory volunteer training session, as well as a pre-shift breifing and de-breifing 5. Work as a part of a team
